Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Screening & Awareness in Delhi

Non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic respiratory conditions, and certain cancers often build silently. In underserved communities, people may not get screened early, so issues are discovered late. Eduquest runs an NCD initiative alongside our doorstep healthcare work to support screening, awareness, counselling, and referrals when needed.

The Reality We See on Ground

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are long-term health conditions that do not spread from person to person. They are influenced by a mix of factors, genetics, environment, and everyday habits.
Common examples include:
• Cardiovascular conditions (high blood pressure, heart-related risks)
• Diabetes
• Chronic respiratory conditions (e.g., COPD)
• Certain cancers

Why this matters: NCDs often show no obvious symptoms early on, which is why screening and awareness can be life-changing.

Why Eduquest Focuses on NCDs

In many JJ clusters, resettlement colonies, and nearby rural areas, people deal with barriers like time, cost, and lack of clear guidance about when and where to seek care. As a result, screening is delayed and awareness is limited.
Eduquest’s NCD initiative is designed to make prevention practical by taking basic screening and awareness closer to communities, and encouraging timely follow-up.

Healthcare Collaboration for Screening Support

To strengthen screening access, Eduquest has collaborated with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre to facilitate awareness and screening support for community beneficiaries, alongside our broader health outreach work.
Example from program notes: during one screening activity in 2019, several cases required follow-up evaluation at the partner facility, highlighting why community screening and timely referrals matter.

Screening, Awareness, Monitoring, and Referral

The initiative supports screening for:

• Diabetes (blood sugar checks)
• Hypertension (blood pressure checks)
• Chronic respiratory conditions (awareness + basic assessment guidance)
• Cancer awareness and periodic screening support through institutional collaboration

Where appropriate, we also provide:

• counselling and preventive awareness
• guidance on healthy routines and risk reduction
• monitoring support for individuals who need repeat checks
• referrals to suitable facilities when higher-level care is required

CSR Partnerships for NCD Screening & Prevention

If your organization is looking for visible, measurable health impact in communities, this program is a strong CSR fit because outcomes can be tracked through sessions, screenings, attendance, and follow-ups.

CSR partnership options:

  • Sponsor community screening days (BP + blood sugar + awareness)
  • Sponsor awareness campaigns (nutrition, routine-building, risk reduction)
  • Support referral enablement and follow-up coordination
  • Sponsor program documentation and reporting (photos, metrics, periodic updates)

What CSR partners receive:

  • execution plan + calendar
  • documentation (photos and activity summaries)
  • periodic reporting with reach and screening metrics
  • visibility opportunities where appropriate

We track outcomes in terms of:

1. Number of screening sessions conducted

2. Number of beneficiaries screened (BP, blood sugar, etc.)

3. Counselling/awareness participation

4. Follow-up guidance and referral counts (where applicable)

Impact

Eduquest’s education support is part of our broader community interventions across Rohini and North/North-West Delhi. We track program reach through attendance, sessions conducted, and community participation, especially in partnership-led initiatives.
